What are the most important things to know?

Stairs only, no lift up to the 4th floor for some apartments.
Please note: We're located in the middle of Temple Bar, Dublin's entertainment district. The area can be quite noisy - we don't recommend our accommodation for elderly guests, families with young children or people sensitive to noise.

Is the area noisy? Can I get a quiet Suite / Apartment?

Being in the heart of Temple Bar means you'll be surrounded by Dublin's most vibrant nightlife. While this central location offers incredible convenience and atmosphere, it does mean the area is lively, especially during evenings and weekends. To ensure your comfort, we provide two pairs of earplugs in each room's nightstand. We apologize for any inconvenience and recommend light sleepers consider this aspect when booking.

How to reach Dublin Castle Suites?

From Dublin Airport, you can take the Dublin Express bus 782 towards Custom House Quay and stop at “Wellington Quay, Temple Bar,” a 3-minute walk from Dublin Castle Suites. The journey typically takes about 30 minutes and costs less than €10 per person one way. For more public transport options, please visit Transport for Ireland's Journey Planner.
A taxi from Dublin Airport to Dublin Castle Suites will cost approximately €30 to €40, depending on the time of day and city traffic. You can find a taxi rank at Dublin Airport, or book one through the FreeNow app.
Dublin Castle Suites are spread across three interconnected buildings above The Beer Temple pub and the Oak Bar; with respective entrances located on Parliament Street for the 1 Bed Suites, Dame Street for the 1 Bed Apartments, and Crane Lane for the 2 Bed Apartments.

How do I check in at Dublin Castle Suites? Can I arrive after midnight?

Check-in at Dublin Castle Suites is fully automated: it means you can check in at any time from 4 PM - even in the middle of the night.
You will receive a message in the morning of your arrival day with check-in instructions including: access codes to the building and a code to a lock box that contains a clicker (physical smartkey) to open your Suite or Apartment door. Lockboxes are located in the entrance of the building, behind the door.
If you have not received a check in message before 4 PM on your arrival day, please first check your SPAM folder and/or the messaging inbox of the Online Travel Agency you used to make your reservation before contacting us.

How do I check out at Dublin Castle Suites?

Please make sure to leave the apartment in a decent condition. You can check-out at anytime up to 11 AM. Please close the apartment door and set the clicker back in its lockbox. You don’t need to send us a message or let us know when you check out.

Can I check in earlier or/and check out later?

Due to our limited size, we cannot offer early check-in or late check-out options. Self check-in is available anytime from 4 PM and self check-out anytime until 11 AM. Booking an additional night, subject to availability, allows for more flexible timings.

Can I store my luggage before check-in or/and after check-out?

Before check-in, from 12 PM (midday) to 2 PM only: please head to The Beer Temple pub, our sister property located at the corner of Parliament St and Dame St. There, a staff member will escort you to your Suite or Apartment, where you can securely leave your luggage.
Post check-out: Please note that we cannot provide luggage storage after you check out. The closest commercial luggage storage facilities to Dublin Castle Suites are located at:

Can I be on the ground floor? On the top floor?

All our apartments are located on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd floors, with the exception of the Penthouse Apartment (4th floor), all of them accessible only by stairs. You are welcome to request a specific floor when booking - and we will do our best to accommodate your request - but it is not something we can guarantee.
Please note that we reserve the right to upgrade guests to a different unit type (Suite to 1-bed/2-bed apartment, or 1-bed to 2-bed apartment) when necessary.

Can I cancel or move my reservation or get a refund?

Please refer to your booking confirmation email for details. Reservations made through our website are fully prepaid. Changes or cancellations will result in no refund or credit for future stays. For peace of mind, we recommend purchasing travel insurance.

Is there any parking available?

We don’t have guest parking. Public and private parking is available near the property. Q-Park Christchurch, Drury Street Car Park, and Stephens Green Parking operate 24/7 and offer overnight rates starting from €14.

When will my room be cleaned? Do you provide room service?

We do not provide daily housekeeping. If you would like your room cleaned during your stay, please send us a message or/and hang the "Please make up my room" sign on your door handle, before 11 AM. Room cleaning is performed between 11 AM and 4 PM. When servicing your room, we will tidy the space and change linens if your stay is longer than 3 days or if they need refreshing.

What’s in the kitchen?

The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, an oven, a refrigerator, a Nescafe Dolce Gusto coffee machine, a dishwasher, a toaster and kettle, and includes pots, pans, plates, glasses, cups, and cutlery.
The kitchen is also equipped with a washer-dryer combo (a combination of a up to 5kg washing machine and clothes dryer); a clothes airer (drying rack) is provided.
In addition, you will find single-use tea and coffee bags, along with one dishwasher tablet and one washing machine tablet, for you to use during your stay. We provide a sponge, a tea towel, and washing-up liquid for your convenience. Please note, salt, pepper, and other perishables are not included.

Can I have a baby cot or an additional bed?

We can provide a travel baby cot upon request (no linen provided). Note that for access and noise reasons, Dublin Castle Suites is not so suitable for toddlers.

Is there a safe box available?

Our rooms do not feature safe deposit boxes.

Is there a TV in my Apartment?

Yes, each apartment is equipped with a smart TV. Default apps like: Netflix, Prime Video, YouTube as well as live TV through Freeview Play & RTE Player. For live sport events, we recommend you come down to the The Temple Bar pub where most events will be shown on big screen TVs.

Do you provide: Linen? Iron? Ironing board? Hairdryer? Toiletries?

While we do not provide bathrobes, we ensure towels and complimentary toiletries for the bathroom including: hand soap, shampoo and two toilet paper rolls are prepared for your arrival. Each Suite or Apartment includes fresh linen, an iron, ironing board, and a hairdryer. All of our bedding is made from synthetic cotton materials, which should ensure a comfortable and allergen-free stay.

Can I smoke?

Smoking is strictly prohibited within all suites, apartments, and common areas of the property. A €250 cleaning fee will be imposed for violation of this policy.

Can I bring additional guests or extend my stay?

We understand plans can sometimes change. If you need to add an extra guest or extend your stay, please let us know. We may be able to accommodate these changes by providing extra linen and towels (for a fee) or extending your booking. For reservations made through Airbnb, Booking.com, or Expedia, please contact their customer service directly to amend your reservation.

Are parties allowed?

Parties are strictly prohibited, and quiet time begins at 10 PM. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining a peaceful environment for all guests.

Are pets allowed?

No, pets are not permitted in our properties.

What Pub, Coffee Shop or Restaurant do you recommend in the area?

Here are our favorite recommendations for bars, restaurants, and coffee spots:
- The Stage Door Cafe: A cozy spot known for its welcoming vibe and strong brews
- Il Valentino Bakery & Cafe: Loved for its Italian-style coffee and fresh pastries
- The Beer Temple: Craft beer selection, live music, and tasty pub grub
- Davy Byrnes: Historic pub (since 1798) with excellent food and drink, rich in literary heritage

Can i get an invoice for my stay?

Yes, please email us after your stay ended (we cannot provide invoices before your stay).

What happens if I leave something behind?

If you leave an item behind, we will hold it for 1 month. For items valued over 100 Euro or those with apparent sentimental value (such as jewelry or photographs), we will actively contact you to arrange return. For other items, if unclaimed within the month, they will be donated to charity or distributed to staff. Please contact us as soon as possible if you realize you've forgotten something in your room.
